2021 Daily Lenten Devotional
February 11 - April 5 2021
As we step into Lent in 2021, chastened by nearly a year of living with and through the Coronavirus pandemic, the theme of this year’s Lenten devotions may seem a bit strange—Walk Humbly. It comes from the Old Testament prophet Micah. Specifically, Micah 6:8:
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
This year’s theme calls us to practice self-examination, confession and repentance of our own sins. Micah was a prophet who spoke out for the poor and downtrodden. He protected them and shared God’s words with them. In light of high unemployment, increased hunger, and worldwide racial division caused by the pandemic and its effects, take time to feed your spirit and ask, what is the Lord requiring of you?
This booklet is a great resource for personal or congregational use. In each devotional booklet, you will find daily meditations, prayers and personal stories of growth that illustrate how God speaks to people through a variety of life experiences. These devotionals are written by people of deep and abiding faith: pastors, missionaries, and laypersons from many Christian traditions.
